Take Responsibility of your Own Safety and Security

Riverside County is the fourth most populous county in California, United States, located in the Inland Empire metropolitan area with 303,871 population as per 2010 Census. It has one of the top Southern California destinations, with an incredible sports scene, high-quality dining and a unique assortment of activities.

Personal Safety and Security in Riverside

Riverside County has made great strides to cement its reputation as a business-friendly destination. At the time of Riverside County’s official formation, the navel orange had helped make the city of Riverside the wealthiest city per capita in the country. Along with luxury home market, oversized and ever growing population, Riverside crime index rate is 11% higher than the California average. Property crimes tend to be the most common criminal activity. Riverside County is a beautiful, but sometimes dangerous place and police can’t be everywhere. Your personal safety is your responsibility.

Here are a few points that are likely to increase criminal activity in the County:

Firstly, does dialing 911 actually protect crime victims? From the perspective of today’s more troubled citizens of Riverside, when it comes to deterring crime and defending against criminals, police do very little to prevent violent crime and individuals are ultimately responsible for themselves and their loved ones. Researchers found that less than 5 percent of all calls dispatched to police are made quickly enough for officers to stop a crime or arrest a suspect.

Unemployment is another main cause likely to increase the criminal activities. In April 2014, unemployment rate for Riverside is 8.4%. The state of California offers unemployment insurance payments to provide financial help to unemployed people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own to meet the requirements. This also means that state prosecutors are quick to press charges when they believe that someone is taking advantage of the system. This unfortunately leads to false allegations, improper charges and poorly run investigations and many innocent people get accused of this crime.

Existing “gun control” laws in Riverside is another main cause, that do not stop serious criminals from getting guns and using them in crimes. The biggest hurdle for gun control is that there are lots and lots of guns out there, and many routes into the hands of people who want them. Easy availability of gun can contribute to ignite an already vulnerable person who is frustrated, angry, in some pain, not getting everything they want.
